A Season Premiere | Anthropologie Catalog, September 2019

Anthropologie Catalog | September 2019

In the style capital of the world, we open on a group of friends with wardrobes as distinct and diverse as each borough. They introduce us to the season’s most covetable looks – like only New Yorkers could.

Making over 23 million trips a year, the Staten Island Ferry is the busiest boat of its kind. It offers iconic views of Lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. Spot it on screen in classics like Working Girl and Sex and the City.

Our muses come together for an afternoon of strolling and chatting in the city’s social epicenter, Central Park. The occasion? Inclusivity – our latest dresses, skirts, pants, and blouses are available in sizes 00P-26W.

Journey to the desert to explore animal-kingdom touches like you’ve never seen them before: outfitted with menswear classics. The roster of sartorial pairings includes: a fedora with tiger stripes, herringbone with plush leopard, and plaid trousers with suede

Soft yet sturdy, lightweight yet warm – suede has a little bit of everything. When used to elevate a classic jumpsuit or jacket, the results are simply stunning

It’s hard to choose just one fall jacket. In the Rockies, we meet a cast of quilted car coats, faux fur truckers, and reversible motos competing for closet space. Spoiler alert: there’s plenty of room for all.

We’ve designed the Reversible Moto Jacket to suit your mood. Take one: a cool, sueded rendition of a moto-inspired shape. Take two: a luxe, faux fur topper with a subtle snake-skin motif.

We’re big on monochromatic dressing. For the simplest take on the tonal trend, just match your topper to your trousers.

Rules of Play | Anthropologie Catalog, May 2019

Rules of Play
A summer weekend away?
Let the best outfit win.
Handwriting: Table tennis got its start as an en-vogue parlor game in Victorian England.

RULE 01
Every team needs a four-legged mascot.

RULE 03
The best uniform keeps you cool (and flutters in the wind).
Handwriting: Tip for beginners: Use your front foot for balance; consider your back foot a rudder, and use it to steer.

RULE 04
Appropriate footwear and headgear required.

RULE 06
Water breaks allowed (especially this kind).
Handwriting: Jumping Ahead: In 1986, a team of six from Cleveland State University set a trampoline record: 53 straight days of bouncing.

Handwriting: Tip for beginners: Blow a better bubble with the homemade recipe: Stir together 1 cup warm water, 2 tablespoons dish soap, 1 tablespoon glycerin, and 1 teaspoon white sugar.

RULE 07
Waist-cinching details balance wide-leg proportions.
Handwriting: Last year, Jhoen Lefont Rodriguez of Havana set a new world record: He kept a soccer ball on his head for 15 min, 12 sec – while treading water.

RULE 08
If the shoe fits – keep it. The more style matches you find, the better.

RULE 09
Award bonus points to maxi dresses that go from dock to dinner with ease.
Handwriting: Tip for beginners: Your cast will have a better snap with movement from your elbow rather than your shoulder.

The Life Within | Anthropologie Catalog, Spring 2018

“There are so many tricks for creating a layered, maximal look without it feeling too visually chaotic. The key is balance, rhythm, and negative space — be sure to have some breathing room.” — Justina Blakeney

You’ll return to this nook again and again – to snuggle up with a loved one, to stretch out with a book. Available in a fully customizable array of fabrics, colors, and finishes, our new Corinne Chair-and-a-Half is a seat with space enough to share the view.

A CHARMING CURATION
Our Scroll Vine Inlay Vanity – where hand-laid spirals and curves form a rendition of a vintage Indian motif – is more than a place for primping and pampering. Here, it showcases a collection of stationery, trinkets and treasures collected over the course of a well-traveled life.

PAULE MARROT FOR ANTHROPOLOGIE
Parisian textile designer Paule Marrot (1902-1987) first studied painting at the age of 14. What followed cemented her legacy as an Art-Deco great: the Prix Blumenthal, the French Legion of Honor award, and the loyalty of clients like Jackie Kennedy and the British royal family. This spring, in a collaboration unlike any other, our designers reimagined her archival prints – upbeat florals and bold fauna – on colorful pieces fit for every room.

A MODERN PARLOR
Derived from the French verb parler, to speak, this space was typically reserved for more formal gatherings and chit-chattering amongst the finer furniture. We’ll forego the stuffier take on entertaining – but we quite like the idea of a room that inspires lively conversation.
